Wipers dont work have replaced relays and checked fuses. So it's the switch or the motor. I plan to just get to where I can pull the connector off the motor and test inside the connector and make sure I'm getting power. This will allow me to check the switch at the same time. But I need to know what each of the four wires are. So i know what I'm testing for.

Is there not a way to simple test at the plug without the use o jumpers etc...

Pin 1 on the motor is ground. 12 V to pin 2 or 3 should actuate the motor directly.

I'd put a fuse in the line, in case there's a short in the motor. The circuit is fused at 30 A.

edjack is correct. I just provided the jumping method because if you want to find out if its a GM module or the motor. Because if your motor ends up being good that you need to keep on looking.

So could I just get 12v from the jump post and touch it to pin 2 or 3 and see if the motor whirls?if it does then that would eliminate the gm too wouldn't it? Because it looks like the gm just provides the ground

Ok so I got to the plug at the motor and tested for 12v. With the key and wipers on high I was not getting 12v ...again ive changed both relays and swapped fuses for the spares. Does this mean the switch is bad?

Do you have an update on the fix? I'm having the same issue. I've checked the relays and they are fine, my switch sprays water but the wipers will not move in any position so I am going to try and test the motor.

With a '97 this is the appropriate schematic - different from the one posted above which is applicable to later model years.
